Gallo-Roman weekend – “Veni vidi Orolaunum”
Every two years, on the first weekend in September, Arlon’s Royal Tourist Office organizes the Gallo-Roman weekend, which has the motto Veni Vidi Orolaunum. A perfect chance to showcase our city’s rich Gallo-Roman heritage!
Celtic and Roman camps
To immerse the public in the Gallo-Roman era, Roman and Celtic re-enactment camps (from Belgium, France and the Czech Republic) present life at the time: the Roman army, crafts, cooking, music…
Gladiator shows and demonstrations
Throughout the weekend, various demonstrations and shows are on offer: military maneuvers, archery, Roman cavalry, gladiatorial combat…
And many other activities
There will also be plenty of activities throughout the weekend for younger and older visitors alike: Pottery workshops, archery, face painting, flower bracelet and crown making, etc.
Guided tours (in the city and in the Archaeological Museum) and a visit to the Roman towers of Neptune and Jupiter are also available.
