The “eye” of the land

“The hill of Arlon is the ‘eye’ of the countryside.
It stands proudly in its armour of buildings, its thousands of windows stretching off into the distance. The roads climbing its slopes are like a giant screw thread, tracing their way from the bottom of the hill to its peak. The ‘eye’ of Arlon overlooks all of South Luxembourg.” These are the words of Joseph Remisch (1863-1955), an Arlon-born journalist, publicist and pioneer of tourism development in Belgian Luxembourg.
